MotionLab Capture Support

MotionLab Capture is an iPhone and iPad app in development and limited testing. Public downloads and purchases are not available yet. This guide describes the current implementation.
1. Supported environment
The app is configured for iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Its interface supports Japanese and English. Website languages and in-app languages are different. Processing speed and detection results depend on the device and filming conditions.
2. Filming and importing
Fix the camera and film the whole body in good light. Keep the head, hands and feet in frame, with clear separation between the body, clothing and background. Obtain the necessary consent and rights for subjects and source material.
Record video or import it from Photos or Files. If more than one person is visible, select the intended subject, check height and analysis range, and start analysis. The app does not compensate for a moving camera or accurately measure hidden body parts.
3. Reviewing and refining results
Compare the original video, skeleton overlay and 3D preview, and inspect intervals with quality warnings. You can manually adjust joints or recalculate corrections from saved raw estimates.
Correction recalculation differs from analyzing the source video again and saves a new version. Source-video reanalysis to change the subject or range requires a free use or Creator entitlement. Quality indicators guide review; they are not accuracy certificates.
4. Using exports
JSON stores project data for restoration, CSV exposes coordinates, and BVH, GLB and FBX support compatible 3D creation tools. Pose MP4 includes companion pose JSON for compatible workflows. It does not automatically connect to arbitrary video-generation AI services.
Missing data and continuity can affect which formats can be exported. Check import, coordinates, retargeting and playback in your chosen software. The companion Unity importer is under validation and is not guaranteed to fit every character.
5. Backing up, restoring and deleting projects
App projects and video copies are not included in device backups. Before deleting the app and at important points in your work, export the main MotionLab JSON and keep source video separately.
The studio's JSON restoration feature imports the main JSON as a new clip. A metadata.json file or pose-control JSON alone cannot restore a project. JSON does not include source video.
Deleting a clip may leave video copies still referenced by other versions, originals in Photos, and files shared elsewhere. The operator cannot restore projects from a server or recall external copies.
6. Free evaluation and planned Creator access
The current configuration provides three successful new analyses per device, up to 30 seconds each, without subscription signup. Failures, cancellations and no-person results do not consume a use. Reinstalling is not guaranteed to restore the allowance.
Creator is planned as an auto-renewing monthly plan permitting up to 60 seconds per analysis without an app-imposed analysis-count quota. Free evaluation never automatically becomes paid. Purchases have not started; check the Apple-provided in-app price and terms when sales begin.
7. Restoring purchases and cancelling
After purchases become available, use the app's purchase-restoration control with the same Apple Account used to purchase. Cancel through Apple's subscription management. Deleting the app alone does not stop renewal.
The current configuration keeps editing, correction recalculation, JSON restoration and export of saved projects accessible after Creator expires. Refer to Apple for billing and refund requests.
8. Problems and questions
Mention MotionLab Capture in the contact form and include the app version, device, operating system, actions taken, expected result and actual result. Do not initially send identifiable footage or body-analysis data.
Avoid personal information in beta feedback unless the people involved have given the necessary consent. If supporting material is needed, we will discuss what to share and how. The app is operated by 1225labo.
