Tanpoke Terms

These terms apply to Tanpoke, the English vocabulary app provided by 1225labo (the operator). Features may differ by operating system, app version and purchase store.
1. Using the app
Tanpoke supports word and example lookup, vocabulary learning and review. It does not guarantee learning outcomes or success in an examination. No app-specific account registration is required.
Use of the app is subject to these terms and the applicable store terms. You are responsible for your device, environment and connectivity. Our dedicated privacy policy explains information handling.
2. Free features and one-time purchases
Dictionary lookup is free and the app displays no advertising. One-time products are provided to unlock learning features for levels or exam sets. Check the app and store displays for the free scope, included products and prices.
A one-time purchase means there is no recurring charge for the product purchased. It does not promise that every future product or feature will be free or that the app will work forever on every device and operating system.
3. Purchases, restoration and refunds
The App Store or Google Play handles billing and payment. Check the price and included features before confirming a purchase. Restore purchases using the same account at the same store. Entitlements do not automatically transfer between different stores.
Refer to the store where you purchased for billing and refund procedures. These terms do not limit any right to cancellation, termination, refund or other remedy available under applicable law. Contact support if a purchase is not reflected in the app.
4. Saved data and backups
Learning records and wordbooks are stored on your device. Back up or export data you need to keep in case of device failure, loss or app deletion. Backup methods and included information differ by operating system and feature.
Resetting learning records does not delete all information. iCloud backups, exported files and purchase history are managed separately. The operator cannot restore from its servers information that has only ever existed on your device.
5. Rights in materials and the app
Rights in the app's software, text, images and characters belong to the operator or their respective rights holders. Dictionary data, examples and open-source components remain subject to their source licenses. These terms do not restrict uses permitted by law or those licenses.
Using the app does not transfer to the operator rights you hold in notes or other content you create. Ensure you have the necessary rights and permissions when using other people's learning materials or images.

6. Conduct and minors
Do not engage in unlawful activity, infringe others' rights, fraudulently obtain or alter purchase entitlements, or interfere with the safe operation of the app or external services. Do not copy or redistribute the app without authorization except as permitted by law or an applicable third-party license.
Minors must obtain a parent or guardian's consent for purchases and other uses where such consent is required.
7. Changes, support and responsibility
Features and conditions may change to fix issues, review learning content, respond to operating-system or store changes, or maintain security. If purchased features are materially affected, we explain the change and any necessary steps through an appropriate channel.
We work to maintain accurate content and reliable operation, but errors and differences between environments can occur. Our responsibility is determined by applicable law; these terms do not exclude your statutory rights.
8. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms where permitted by law. We communicate the changes and effective date through the app, website or another appropriate channel, with advance notice or consent where required.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Japanese law without restricting mandatory consumer protections or other statutory rights applicable to you. Jurisdiction over unresolved disputes is determined under applicable law.
